Free caravan rest area.

"It's so great to see Kalgoorlie has a free overnight stop. We got into town late and could roll in, set up and grab dinner right on our door step. It was a very welcome surprise along our travels and made for a relaxing night off for Mum & Dad!"

Caravanning has become a phenomenon in recent years. The grey nomads were really onto something, bundling up your belongings for an extended road trip to experience our great country.

Now we see everything from family holidays, to girls trips taking advantage of using a base to explore the surrounding sights.

Kalgoorlie-Boulder is a wonderful stop in itself; in addition to a jumping off point to explore the rest of the Goldfields region. Day trips to Menzies to experience the Gormley statues at Lake Ballard, Gwalia’s infamous ghost town or ex-presidential domain Hoovers’ House. Given Kalgoorlie is such a popular spot on the map, local caravan parks are often at full capacity. That’s where the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder steps in, with a free 24 hour RV stop at Centennial Park.

The park is centrally located with a playground, large grassed area and an added bonus of food trucks co-located to kerb those early morning caffeine cravings and late night burger munchies.

The park is also home to some spectacular community events so depending on when you choose to visit; you may also get a front row seat to a concert or show.

If you’re passing through Kalgoorlie, we highly recommend at least one night to stop and take a look around.
